Ali is a designer, maker, and a conscientious ojecteur based in Portland, Oregon. Her current work explores space, place, and psychogeography through alternative photographic techniques, object-making, and repair. She graduated in 2011 with an MFA in Applied Craft and Design from the Pacific Northwest College of Art + Oregon College of Art and Craft.

You can view Gradischer's work on her website and on her bog

Statement from the artist:

ARTEMIS is a collection of cyanotypes created during the months of January and February 2013 when I was an artist resident at the Nes Artist Residency in Skagastrond, Iceland. Through experimentation and deep observation, this new body of work explores how darkness, wild grit, and remoteness can be catalysts for creating meaningful work. The end product commemorates a season of process, story telling, and spirituality in the steady journey of finding one's soul voice.

ARTEMIS is funded in part by the Regional Arts & Cultural Council through a Professional Development Grant.
